Most Buyers will do this as part of their general inspection when buying a home. What a sewer line inspector will do is run a camera from a drain clean out or a toilet if the clean out can’t be located, and they are checking to see that the sewer line pipe is not blocked or cracked, and is in great working order.
What you don’t want to happen is for the pipe to get blocked. If it does, then the pipe will build up and then back up into your house! Now nobody wants sewerage swimming around their floor. And trust me – it happens! Sewer line repairs can be very expensive, but an actual inspection is only $135-150.
Another thing to check is that your insurance coverage includes should the inevitable happen! Because not all policies do.
